Type Portraits
For the type portraits I chose three photos that I thought worked well for the type of portrait I was creating. For shape I chose a photo of myself with wavy hair, sunglasses and a toothy smile, which made for fun shapes. I originally did put a V-neckline on the finished portrait but actually liked how it looked like a floating head without it, so I took it off. It came out kind of creepy and I kind of like the floating head idea. For the line portrait I chose a photo of my boyfriend on the beach. I liked this photo for the line portrait because he has defined facial features, like his jawline and dimples, and the sunglasses were fun to outline. For the text I chose lyrics from Frank Sinatra's "Summer Wind," one of his favorite songs and appropriate for a beach photo. For the value portrait I chose a photo of myself that had a lot of contrast. I think the contrast helps the value portrait really pop. I chose lyrics from Bread's "Aubrey," which I was named after and luckily I do really like the song.
